Company ProfileGeoff and Jackie Laurin founded Half Steps Farm in 1993 in the Sierra foothills town of El Dorado, CA, about seven miles west of Placerville and about 30 miles east of Sacramento. Their private equestrian training facility boasts 30 stalls, outstanding footing, wonderful clients and a beautiful park-like setting. They provide training for both horse and rider, specializing in the young horse and in rehabilitating the problem horse. They have imported international-quality horses from Germany with the bloodlines of Donnerhall, Weltmeyer, Feiner Stern, Larome, Regazonni and others. Their domestically bred horses have pedigrees with Idol, Fuerst Gotthard, Frohwind and Zorn. Between them, Geoff and Jackie have more than 35 years of experience in the horse industry, from eventing to hunters to dressage. They founded their farm after studying Animal Science at the University of California at Davis. They continue to study and learn under mentors who include Nick Wagman, Steffen Peters and Debbie McDonald. They have won numerous high point awards in California, Oregon and Nevada.
